Rootd account

Delete your account and data

This request applies to the Rootd app and the Rootd account you use across mobile and web. Account deletion is permanent.

Delete in the app

Open Rootd and go to Profile → Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. The app will ask you to confirm before deletion begins.

Request deletion by email

If your Rootd account has an email address, send the request from that address. If you started without an email, contact us while you still have access to Rootd so we can verify the anonymous account. Use the subject “Rootd Account Deletion Request.” We will never ask for your password, one-time sign-in code, or payment details.

Email an account deletion request

We process verified email requests within 30 days and will confirm when the request is complete.

What is deleted

We remove your authentication identity, profile and onboarding preferences, personal meal plans, shopping and prep data, completion history, notes, ratings, favorites, feedback, push tokens, offer and entitlement records, recipe shares, and recipes you imported or authored, including their source URLs and generated content.

If you belong to a shared household, another member’s account and the household’s shared plan remain. Ownership is transferred to a remaining member. Entries that depend on one of your deleted private recipes may disappear from that shared plan.

Limited records we may retain

We may retain minimal transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, chargeback, or legal records for as long as reasonably required. These records do not include full payment-card details. Encrypted provider backups may contain deleted data until the configured recovery window expires; they are isolated from normal product access and used only for recovery and security.

Subscriptions and account deletion

Rootd cancels web subscriptions billed by Stripe when it deletes the associated account. Deleting your Rootd account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription because it is controlled by your Google Play account. Cancel it in Google Play to prevent future renewal.
